Life after a traffic accident
On Friday, September 20th of 2019 an important event took place in Gorzów Wielkopolski organised in partnership with our company - “Life after a traffic accident.”
Once again, we are proud that we could support a cross-border traffic safety campaign initiated by the Police Departments in Lubuskie and Brandenburg.
One of the key elements of the event included a simulation of a traffic accident. In order to simulate the accident, our lorry was used to drive into a parked passenger car at a speed of 40 km/h. The controlled accident involved a full rescue action involving firefighters, paramedics and police in order to emulate the situation in the most realistic manner. The damage done to the passenger car proved that a collision with a lorry can be fatal, even at a relatively low speed. The extent of damage required the passenger car to be cut open, while at the same time, the lorry was only slightly damaged.
Apart from the controlled collision, the participants also had the opportunity to attend practical workshops aimed to increase their awareness with regards to traffic safety. The workshops included simulations of other collisions, a presentation of an airbag blowing up, impact force simulator, car rollover simulator, alco glasses on a go-kart track, first aid training and eco-driving simulators. In addition, some of the participants have donated blood to save other peoples’ lives.
During the meeting we also had a live chat with the former World Motorcycle Speedway Champion Tomasz Gollob and Varius Manx lead singer Monika Kuszynska. We also had the chance to talk to Bartek Zmarzlik. Finally, we could also enjoy interesting thematic panels with well-known participants: Łukasz Byśkiniewicz - rally driver, a member of the TVN Turbo Rally Team, automotive journalist Adam Kornacki or Janusz Popiel from the Association of Traffic Accident and Collision Victims.
